The best places to enjoy an ice cream in Luxembourg
It's (finally) hot and it's snack time, what's better than a good ice cream to enjoy the summer. Paperjam has selected the best addresses in Luxembourg for you, to enjoy without moderation.
Even though the rain came this week in Luxembourg and morale took a hit, the desire to enjoy a good ice cream remains intact. Here is our selection of places where you can taste delicious ice cream, buy a liter to take away and enjoy it, dry, on your balcony.
Bargello
13 Rue du Fort Elisabeth, 1463 Gare Luxembourg
The address for the truly curious – those who like to be surprised with every spoonful. With its two boutiques in Luxembourg city, this Florentine-inspired artisanal gelateria renews its menu with the seasons and inspirations. Lavender, ricotta-honey-fig, chocolate with chili (disappeared too quickly)… here, each visit is a new experience. The great classics – dark, milk or white chocolate – are perfectly mastered, but it is the signature creations, like the delicate bergamot flower, that make all the difference. Everything is prepared with care, without artificial colors or flavors, in a sober and elegant decor that evokes Italy without falling into cliché.
At the helm: Laura Fontani, a demanding enthusiast, who selects each ingredient herself between Luxembourg and Tuscany. A refined but accessible address, for those who like ice cream with character.
Dolce Come
19 Grand-Rue, 1661 Ville-Haute Luxembourg
This is perhaps where you can find the creamiest ice creams in Luxembourg. Dolce Come, heir to the great Italian pastry tradition, does not cheat: quality ingredients, true artisanal know-how, and an obsession with just the right taste. Result: scents like pistachio or chocolate, rich, intense, often out of stock on sunny days. The line can get long quickly, but the wait is worth it. Between the ultra-smooth balls, the ice cream sundaes worthy of a restaurant dessert and the gluten-free, vegan or sugar-free options, there is something for everyone. Here, each scent tells a story, and each mouthful makes you want to come back.
Bonomeria
4 Rue Wurth-Paquet, 2737 Belair Luxembourg
In Bertrange, Bonomeria plays in another court: that of artisan ice cream makers who see ice cream as an art in its own right. No compromise here. Everything is prepared on site, in their laboratory, from hand-picked raw materials. Italian tradition and house creativity mix in classic or completely unexpected fragrances, renewed every week. The window makes you want to taste everything: intensely flavored ice creams, generous parfaits, frozen sweets, or even tailor-made cakes for special occasions.
Иice
128 Av. du Dix Septembre, 2550 Belair Luxembourg
The latest addition to the landscape of Luxembourg glaciers, Nice has settled in Belair, with a simple promise: to combine craftsmanship and modernity. Imagined by four Luxembourg friends who are passionate about ice cream (and coffee), this carefully decorated lounge offers a house selection renewed every day, with well-made classics, more daring flavors, a daily vegan option and sorbets that should please lovers of fruity freshness. The emphasis is on natural ingredients and transparency: here, no secrets about the compositions. The terrace is very nice.
Yo by Yogurtlandia
7 Av. du Rock'n'Roll, 4361 Esch-Belval Esch-sur-Alzette,
Frozen yogurt – or fro-yo for short – will never replace good homemade ice cream. But if you don't have one on hand, you might as well choose the best. In Belval, Yo by Yogurtlandia revisits the genre with freshness and high standards. Born from a crush in Italy, the brand is arriving in Luxembourg in the summer of 2024 with one watchword: quality. Behind the counter, Valérie Selvaggi focuses on local products (Luxlait, La Provençale), homemade pancakes, recipes without additives – and even a sugar-free version designed for diabetics. All served in a kiosk as neat as its offering. Belvalino, a signature takeaway dessert combining yogurt, whipped cream, fruit and toppings, promises a delicious, light sweet break... and almost enough to make you forget the ice cream.
